I've been way crafty lately, but I'll save the rest for another post and start with the dress that I made on Friday. Yup, that's how I spend my Friday nights, slaving away over a sewing machine. I used Vogue 2412, which looks way ugly from the pattern front, but I think my version is cute (and I already got compliments on it when I wore it today--that's the best feeling!) I would highly recommend the pattern to anyone who wants to make a shirtdress.( On to the dress...Collapse )
Jaunty Green Cap/Hat
Using a hat I already own, I made myself a hat pattern this weekend. I made a practice one with cardboard in the brim, then I went out, bought some buckram and cooler fabric, and made another. I like how it turned out, especially the lining. The ribbon is attached with a pin, so it's totally detachable.( More of the same...Collapse )
T-shirt to hoodie tranformation with Tutorial
So the other night I was bored and I started going through my stash of fabric and reconstructable clothes in the hopes of finding a project. I stumbled across a couple of thriftstore finds: a little boys' cub scout shirt and this stretchy knit fabric that matches perfectly (it says "hold that tiger"), and inspiration struck. I even documented the process for posterity with this tutorial, because I haven't seen tutorials for this project.( HOLD THAT TIGERCollapse )
